On Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at approximately 4:47 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on State Highway 16, south of Emmett.

Donald L. Foster, 72, of Emmett, was driving in a 1995 Ford F150 pickup north on State Highway 16 approaching the intersection for Old Freeze Out Road and Jackass Gulch Road. Billy W. Brown, 73, of Emmett, was stopped on Jackass Gulch Road at the intersection for State Highway 16 waiting to cross over to Old Freeze Out Road in a 1994 Ford pickup. Brown, failing to see Foster, pulled out in front of him. Foster attempted to brake but was unable to in time and struck Brown's pickup in the driver's side door. Foster's pickup came to rest in the north bound lanes of State Highway 16. Brown's pickup went off the road and went down an embankment off Old Freeze Out Road.

Brown was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ambulance to Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett. Brown has been cited for failing to yield and failing to wear a seatbelt. Foster was wearing a seatbelt and received no injuries.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
