On October 6, 2012 at 9:38 pm, Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound on US26 at mile marker 396, east of the Palisades Reservoir.

Elsie L. Cody, 79 of Blackfoot, was traveling westbound on US26 in a 2000 Chevrolet Impala. Cody drifted off the roadway and overcorrected causing the vehicle to come to rest in an embankment.

Cody and her five passengers; Kitrena I. Pannel, 55 of Blackfoot ; Kasondra R. Pannel, 21 of Pocatello ; Katie K. E. Higgins, 41 of Blackfoot ; Mary A. Findlay, 57 of Blackfoot ; and Katina I. Jackman, 36 of Pocatello; were all transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts.
