Update - Trailer Fire Results in Blocked Traffic in Elmore County on I84

Shortly before 9 p.m. on July 18th, 2012, the Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle fire westbound on I84 at milepost 76, about 3.5 miles from the Ada County/Elmore County line. Enayat Sarang, age 51 of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada was driving west on I84 when he pulled to the side of the road with a fire to the wheel area of his trailer. The fire spread to the rest of the trailer. Westbound traffic was blocked for several hours as a result of the fire and smoke, but is now clear.

No injuries were sustained and the investigation is continuing.

At this time, the Idaho State Police is investigating a fire involving a commercial trailer westbound on I84 at milepost 76, about 3.5 miles from the Ada County/Elmore County line. Both lanes of westbound traffic were blocked, but currently the left lane is open and traffic is moving slowly. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
