On Sunday July 15, 2012, at approximately 7:20 am, Idaho State Police investigated a crash on I84 near Caldwell. Londa Tincher, 26, of Caldwell was traveling westbound on I84 near milepost 30 in a silver Pontiac Montana van when she fell asleep at the wheel. Tincher's vehicle drifted off the right side of the road. She over-corrected and lost control, causing the vehicle to roll into the median. Both of Tincher's juvenile passengers were not wearing seat belts and were ejected.

All three occupants of the vehicle were transported by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Tincher was transported with non-life threatening injuries; the two juveniles were uninjured.

It is unknown whether Tincher was wearing a seat belt or not. One lane of traffic in each direction was blocked for approximately one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
