****Update****

On June 15, 2012 at 6:27 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle fatality crash NB I15 at mile marker 83, north of Fort Hall.

Maxine T. Cushman, 93 of Blackfoot, was traveling northbound on I15 in a 2002 Honda Odyssey Van. Cushman came upon slower moving traffic in front of her due to fires in the area when she rear-ended a 2012 Ford F250 being driven by Rex J. Higley, 59 of Heyburn. Cushman's vehicle suffered extreme front end damage and she died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Higley and his passenger, Lisa A. Higley, 47, also of Heyburn, were not injured in the crash. All occupants in both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts. One northbound lane on I15 was blocked for about two and a half hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.

This crash is still under investigation.
