Two vehicle injury crash on US95 south of Cambridge

On Sunday, December 18, 2011, at approximately 11:45 AM, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on US95 at milepost 111, just south of Cambridge. Zachary Swafford, 23, of Sparks, NV, was traveling south on US95 in a 1998 Pontiac sedan. Lawrence Bland, 26, of Libby, MT, was driving north in a 2005 Ford Focus. Swafford came upon an icy portion of roadway, lost control of the vehicle and entered the northbound lane of travel and was struck by Bland's vehicle on the driver's side. Swafford was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Bland and his passenger, Kylie Schauss, 22, of Great Falls, MT, were transported by ground ambulance to Weiser Mermorial Hospital in Weiser. Bland and Schauss have been released from the hospital. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.

This crash was investigated by Trooper Klitch of the Idaho State Police. Trooper Klitch was assisted by Master Corporal Boll.
