On Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 11:40pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on US 26 at mile marker 361.5, east of the Clark Hill Rest Area. Miley Arnett, 26 from Idaho Falls, was eastbound on US 26 in a 2003 Volkswagon Jetta. Frank Barnes, 68 from Horseshoe Bend, was westbound on US 26 in a 2002 Dodge pickup pulling a trailer. For unknown reasons, Arnett crossed the center line and struck Barnes' vehicle. Barnes swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid Arnett causing both the truck and trailer to overturn. Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately two and a half hours while emergency crews worked to remove the vehicles. Airbags deployed in both vehicles and Barnes was wearing his seatbelt. It is unknown if Arnett was wearing a seatbelt. Arnett was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls with unknown injuries. Barnes was treated at the scene, but not transported . The crash is under investigation by Cpl. T. Murdock.
