On Saturday, November 5, 2011, at approximately 9:14 am, a 2004 Chevy Suburban, driven by Holly Galbraith of Jackson, was southbound on SH 31 at about milepost 5.6 when she lost control of the Suburban on the snow covered road and slid off the left side of the road. The Suburban crashed through the guardrail and came to rest 125 feet down the embankment into Pine Creek. There were 8 occupants in the Suburban, 2 were transported to EIRMC by air ambulance and the remaining occupants were transported to EIRMC by ground ambulance. One passenger was then flown to a hospital in UT. Occupants were recovered from the Suburban by rope rescue teams from Bonneville County Search and Rescue, Swan Valley Fire Department, Jefferson County Fire/QRU/Search and Rescue, and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office. A witness to the crash rendered first aid until first responders arrived on scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
