On Thursday September 29, 2011, at approximately 9:00 a.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle injury crash eastbound on Interstate 86 at milepost 50, east of American Falls.

Michael Decroix, 58, of Chubbuck was traveling westbound on Interstate 86 in his 2001 Toyota Tacoma pick up pulling a 2010 Snobear trailer. Decroix's trailer began to fishtail and he overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go into the median where it rolled, coming to rest on the eastbound side of the interstate. Decroix was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Decroix was then transported by Life Flight to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello with serious injuries. Decroix's passenger, Mary Decroix, 44, also of Chubbuck, was wearing her seatbelt and suffered only minor injuries. Both eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately an hour. The left lane remained blocked for another forty five minutes.

This crash is under investigation by Trooper Edgley of the Idaho State Police. Trooper Edgley was assisted at the scene by Trooper Aikele, Trooper Orr, Cpl Williams, Cpl Zweigart, and Sergeant Manning. Power County Sheriffs Office and EMS also assisted at the scene.
