On Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 9:22 pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a fatal crash at 4050 North 3300 East in Twin Falls, Idaho. Brandon Gratriex, age 23 of Susanville, Ca, and his passenger, Kesia Lewis, age 20 of Twin Falls, Id, were riding a 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle traveling southbound on 3300 East. Gratriex failed to negotiate a curve at 4050 North. The vehicle went off the roadway, through a wooden fence and into a field. Both parties were ejected.

It is believed that speed was a factor in this crash. Neither parties were wearing helmets. Brandon Gratriex was pronounced dead at the scene. Kesia Lewis was initially taken by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls and subsequently transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was involved. The crash investigation is continuing.

Trooper Clausing was assisted at the scene by Idaho State Police Sergeant Oliver, Corporals Wendler and Hitt, and Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office deputies.
