On Saturday, July 9, 2011, at approximately 4:33pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 86 at milepost 57, near the Pocatello Airport exit. Samantha Carbol, 19 from Pocatello, was travelling eastbound on I86 in a 1999 Chevrolet Prism. Carbol started to change lanes, and struck a 2002 Chevrolet 4 door driven by James Drake, 26 of California. Drake's vehicle came to a stop on the shoulder. Drake was uninjured, and there was minor damage to his vehicle. Carbol's vehicle crossed the median, rolled, and came to rest in the westbound lanes of I86. Both Carbol and her passenger, Reanna Loveland, 9, were transported by ground ambulance to the Portneuf Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. All occupants involved were wearing seatbelts. Neither road nor weather conditions were a factor. The right lane was blocked for approximately one and a half hours.

This crash is under investigation by Trooper Orr. He was assisted by Trooper Zweigert, Cpl. Donahue, and Sgt. Manning, as well as the Power County Sheriff's Office, Fort Hall EMS and fire department, and Pocatello EMS.
