On July 22, 2011 at 5:26 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash eastbound on US26 at mile marker 340, east of Idaho Falls.

Farah K. Corbett, 34 of Rigby, was traveling northbound on 55th East in a 2011 Honda Odyssey Van. Sarah M. Jessen, 33 of Rire, was traveling eastbound on US26 in a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. Corbett failed to yield at the stop sign of 55th East and US26 and pulled out into the intersection colliding with Jessen's vehicle.
Corbett was transporting seven children, ages 3 to 13, which were not injured in the crash. Corbett was transported by personal vehicle to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released. Corbett was issued a citation for failure to yield from a stop sign.

Jessen was taken into custody by Master Corporal K. Barnes for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center before being booked into the Bonneville County Jail. She is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and injury to child due to her two children, ages 2 and 5, being with her in the vehicle. Both children were not injured in the crash.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts and proper child safety and booster seats were in use. The center lanes of US26 were blocked while crews worked to remove the wreckage.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Master Corporal K. Barnes was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Zaugg, Corporal M. Cox, Trooper A. Nakashima and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
