On Wednesday, April 06, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle semi crash eastbound on Interstate 84 at milepost 9, near New Plymouth. Kay Maciejewski, 41 from Byron Center, Michigan, was driving eastbound in a 2004 Freightliner truck when she drifted from the right lane into the median. Kay overcorrected and rolled the vehicle into the median where it came to rest on the driver's side. Both Kay and her co-driver Jackson Maciejewski, 46 of Byron Center, Michigan, were transported to St Alphonsus in Ontario, Oregon. Kay was wearing her seat belt, Jackson was not. Kay and Jackson had minor injuries. Drugs are thought to be a factor in this crash.

The interstate was partially blocked for five hours due to the crash, and for another two hours due to clean up.

The crash is still under investigation. Master Corporal Nauman was assisted at scene by Corporal Hedges, Specialist Turbull, Payette County, and the Idaho Transportation Department.
