On Saturday, February 26, 2011, at approximately 8:56 a.m., Idaho State Police Trooper B. Barnes was assisting a motorist involved in a non-reportable crash on the shoulder of the northbound lane of Interstate 15, at milepost 67 in Pocatello, Idaho. Idaho Transportation Department Supervisor Claylon Perkins, 55, of Pocatello, ID, stopped to assist Trooper Barnes with traffic control. Perkins had exited his 2009 GMC Sierra pickup when KC Petrillose-Parrish, 44, of Pocatello, lost control of her 2004 Dodge Durango due to the icy road conditions. Petrillose-Parrish's vehicle struck Perkins' vehicle, causing the GMC Sierra pickup to hit him.

Perkins and Petrillos-Parrish were transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, for their injuries. Parrish was not injured. Petrillos-Parrish and passenger Ryan Parrish, 13, of Pocatello, ID, were wearing seatbelts.

This crash is still under investigation by Trooper J. Law who was assisted at the scene by Idaho State Police, Pocatello Police Department, Bannock County Sheriff's Office, Idaho Department of Transportation, and emergency response crews.
