On Saturday, Feburary 5, 2011 at 6:30 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a minor injury crash that occurred near Boise on I84 at milepost 56. David Heuterman, 28, of Boise was traveling westbound when he took his eyes off the roadway drifting toward a vehicle in the lane to his right, and then overcorrecting to avoid hitting the vehicle. Heuterman's vehicle entered the median and rolled, coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of travel.

At the same time a charter bus from Utah was traveling eastbound when Heuterman's vehicle came to rest in their lane. Dennis Woodbrey, 64, of Utah used evasive maneuvers to avoid hitting Heuterman head-on. Woodbrey was able to maneuver the bus enough sideswiping Heuterman's overturned vehicle and causing only minor damage to his bus.

Both lanes were blocked for about 1 hour for emergency crews. David Heuterman was taken by ground ambulance to St. Als in Boise with minor injuries.

Heuterman was cited for inattentive and not wearing a seatbelt.

Crash is under investigation by Trooper Higley, Trooper Cottrell, Trooper Murakami, Trooper Uhlenkott, and Ada County emergency personnel.
