*******Update********

On August 26, 2010 at 4:27 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle non-injury crash eastbound on I84 at mile marker 199, near Eden/Hazelton.

Robert Ochoa, 39 of Burley, was traveling eastbound on I84 in a 2007 International rollback tow truck hauling a 10-wheel truck. Ochoa lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median. Upon impact, the 10-wheeler truck came off of the tow truck coming to rest in the lane of travel. Ochoa, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured in the crash.

Due to traffic congestion in the area three other crashes occurred.

At 4:58 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash eastbound I84 at mile marker 197.5.

Todd Stocker, 34 of Burley, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Pick-up and was stopped in the eastbound lane of travel where traffic was at a standstill from the previous crash. Nicole Knobbe, 21 of Declo, was traveling eastbound on I84 in a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero when, for unknown reasons, she ran into the back of Stocker's pick-up.

Knobbe was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Her 3 year old son was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Stocker was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and the 3 year old child was in a child safety seat.

Eastbound lanes of travel were blocked for 3 hours as a result traffic was diverted.

Both crashes are still under investigation by Idaho State Police. Troopers Nye and N. Walker were assisted at the scene by Sergeant Thompson, Trooper Wendler, Trooper Dahl, and Jerome Sheriff Deputies.
