On Saturday March 20, 2010, at approximately 2:45 p.m. (MDT), the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash on US95 at milepost 189, near Pollock, Idaho. A 1998 Toyota Tacoma, being driven by Zechariah Hoffenreich, age 22 of Kooskia, Idaho, was headed northbound on US95, when he took his eyes off of the road and struck a rock embankment on the side of the road. Hoffenreich's vehicle then rolled and blocked both lanes of US95 for approximately 2 hours. Hoffenreich and his passenger, Erika Malmstrom, age 19 of Seattle, Washington, were both wearing their seatbelts and airbags did deploy, but were both transported to Syringa Hospital in Grangeville for treatment of their injuries. Hoffenreich was cited for inattentive driving.

Corporal Boll investigated the crash and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Clark and Idaho Fish and Game officers.
