**********UPDATE**************

The Idaho State Police are investigating a crash eastbound at milepost 71 involving a Greyhound bus and a pickup truck. ***********UPDATE**************

On Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at approximately 12:04 a.m., Junior A. Martinez, 19 years old, of Norwalk, California, was travelling eastbound in a 2000 Ford Ranger when he lost control of the vehicle. Martinez's vehicle rolled in the middle of the roadway and was struck by a Greyhound bus, driven by Miguelito Sakay, 53 years old, of Reno, Nevada. Traffic was completely blocked on the eastbound side of the interstate for approximately four hours while the crash was being cleared. Several passengers on the bus were transported to St. Al's with minor injuries. Martinez and his passenger, Jake A. Perez, 21 years old, of Mountain Home, were also transported to St. Al's. Perez was treated and released. Martinez is still being treated at this time. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Idaho State Police were assisted by Ada County deputies and EMS.
