On Friday, November 27, 2009 at 9:51 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a multi-vehicle crash that occurred at milepost 64, near Blacks Creek on Interstate 84. William G. Martin, 52 years old, of Boise was traveling southbound on Blacks Creek road in a 2008 Ford Econo Van. Martin unintentionally turned onto the west bound lanes and continued to travel eastbound in the westbound lanes. Martin attempted to make a u-turn when he was struck by a 2007 Honda Civic driven by Peter C. Rose, 28 years of Everett, Washington. The impact caused Martin's van to overturn onto its side. Shortly after the initial impact, Rose's vehicle was struck by a 1997 Ford Expedition driven by Ling Yuan Leow, 25 years of age, of Mountain Home. Rose was transported to St. Luke's Downtown with minor injuries and later released. The other two drivers received no injuries. All drivers were wearing seatbelts. Traffic was temporarily diverted while the crash was investigated. Weather and driving too fast for conditions were a factor in this crash.
Idaho State Police Trooper Murakami investigated this crash with the assistance from Idaho Transportation Department.
