On November 28, 2009, at 8:58 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash at the intersection of us95 and northeast 21st avenue near Payette. The Idaho State Police was assisted by Payette City Police, Payette County Sheriff, Fire and Emergency Medical Services. The Idaho Transportation Department assisted with traffic control.

Patsy King, 82 years old, of Payette, ID, was traveling west on 21st avenue in a 1997 Subaru Outback when she approached a stop sign at the intersection of US95. King either did not stop or stopped and did not yield as she turned south onto US95. King's vehicle was struck broadside on the driver's side by a semi truck traveling north on US95, driven by Apolonio Gonzalez, 48 years old, of Caldwell, ID. Upon impact, both vehicles went off the west side of US95. The semi came to rest in a parking lot and the Subaru went through a split rail fence before coming to rest.

Patsy King and her passenger, Michael King, 64 years old, of Payette, ID, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Patsy was wearing her seatbelt, but Michael was not wearing his seatbelt. Nobody was ejected from the vehicle. Apolonio Gonzalez was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

This crash is being investigated by Trooper Chase with assistance from Troopers Bake, Turnbull and Avery.
