On November 28, 2009 at 2:17 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle injury crash westbound on I184 at the Flying Wye flyover.

Mohammad I. Mohammad Ewaz, 45 of Boise, was traveling westbound on I184 in a 1999 Nissan Altima when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the right side guardrail. Michael Barnett, 39 of Boise, was also traveling westbound in a 2004 Ford Taurus, when his vehicle struck the Nissan, then the left side guardrail. A third vehicle involved was a 1992 Ford Explorer, driven by Amanda Lander, 21 of Meridian. Lander swerved to avoid the Nissan, losing control, and striking the left side guardrail.

Mohammad Ewaz, Barnett, and a passenger in Barnett's vehicle were all transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash was driving too fast for road conditions.

This crash was investigated by Sgt. Kelley with the Idaho State Police. Sgt. Kelley was assisted at the scene by the Boise Police and Fire Department and Ada County Paramedics.
